Mayor Waylon Clayton and wife Kylie opened the 1776 Firehouse & Lounge in the historic Berning Motor Inn building. The restaurant serves steaks, BBQ, pasta, and elevated cocktails, with Clayton calling it "a dream" and saying "the people are crying out for their town to get these things back."
Joe Anson reopened the long-time Uptown Creston restaurant at 211 W Adams Street under new ownership and a new name. The Chamber of Commerce held an official ribbon cutting, with Director Ellen Gerharz welcoming the Anson family as new business owners.
